But, I bought 2! The second one, I've kept in the kitchen, and only use it on herbs that have already been readied for the kitchen (all woody stems, thorns, etc. have already been removed, and only lighter use, rather than field use and storage), and it's in great shape, though it does still dig into my hand. It needs the green plastic guard to be on both sides.
I love the look, and the idea of if. I loved it when I saw it on a gardens magazine, I just bought it here because it was cheaper. When it arrived I realized the first thing, it is bigger in person, so unless you have large hands, they might be a bit uncomfortable. They shears part is not sharp at all, which wouldn't be a problem if they were closer together but imagine cutting paper with scissors that have a huge gap in the middle, the paper would just fold along the gap and it would take forever to cut. Now replace that paper with a leaf stem and you got a recipe for damaged plants. Basically, they shears are a worthless piece of metal.
The lock to the shears is extremely horrible, it is a small, triangular piece of metal that flips open all the time! I still rotate it over but in truth, I have to put the shears in between two pieces of pressure so they don't pop open and I accidently hurt myself.
The only reason I did not return them or have thrown them away is because my partner uses the herb stripper part of them. As an herb stripper it is great, we particularly love passing some cilantro through it. That is the only worth while function for this thing.
My hands are typically wet during use and the snipping part feels a little sketchy so I largely don't utilize that part.
